Rover N6 Communicator

Today Windows communicator producers do not have much space for invention – it is either lowering the price or making Windows systems more functional. Here the GPS system came to be very useful: it is easy to build in additional chip in the rather large body phone and the big display is another advantage for GPS. Rover N6 was created by this principle and is equipped with built in GPS receiver.

Let's start with the package. The black box is simple with the phone Rover N6 image on the front side and the technical features on the back side. The ear phones are provided to go in the package with the button turning on the incoming calls. The ear phones also serve as the antenna when listening to the built in FM radio. The sound quality is acceptable and the ear phones high quality should not even be estimated. The FM radio interface is not very convenient.

The communicator is performed from soft plastic which reminds of a thin layer of rubber when you hold it in your hand. Due to this Rover N6 does not fall off the hand and can be comfortably placed on the car front panel.

The color of Rover N6 is black and the finger prints remain on the surface even after a short usage. But it is easy to clean them off with a tissue paper. So if you want your Rover N6 to always look new, take more time to wipe it off. The body is very secure and the scratches do not appear even if you carry it in the pocket full of keys and other things.

Rover N6 monitoring is performed by 6 buttons plus a 4 positioned joystick with the "OK" button in the centre under the display.

One more Rover N6 advantage is the display or rather its diagonal. I have always admired people reading something from the phone displays in the underground stations.

Rover N6 display diagonal is 3,2 inches and not 2,8 as many of its rivals. On such a display I could easily read the conference while using public transportation and as a GPS receiver with larger display it is more convenient. Besides a large diagonal and rather low resolution allow monitoring the device without stylus – the display buttons can be pressed by finger.

One of the drawbacks is that the camera slot does not close and the glass often gets dirty and scratched.

The communicator Rover N6 is built on rather quick functioning processor from Marvell – PXA270. The device working speed can be managed. With the accessible price and good functions the device should be noted by those who have not had devices of this kind before.
