Unlocked GSM Cell Phones
Usually mobile phone producers choose the operator they are going to work with and limit the GSM cell phone work.

When a person buys mobile device in the mobile operator store or Apple Store, he/she needs to make a contract with the operator. After this theGSM cell phone is activated and can be used.
In order to make iPhone work in other mobile operators' nets, it should be activated and unlocked GSM cell phones.
iPhone unlock is usually called GSM soft module modification after which it can function with any mobile operator SIM card.
GSM Cell phones can be unlocked in two ways: programming and apparatus intrusion. In the first case of cell phone unlocking radio modem unblocks iPhone with the help of programs AnySim (iUnlock) or iPhoneSimFree without the corpus interference.
Apparatus unlock requires GSM cell phone opening and Test Point underlocking, after which the access to soft radio modem modification is allowed. Also operator limit can be denied with the help of changes not in the cell phone itself but in the SIM card. This method is called Sim Clone. When using it, the iPhone is absolutely sure that the card belongs to AT&T. The information necessary for the net authorization like ICCID, IMSI and secret key Ki is scanned from the card and copied on the special smart-card. Unfortunately this method does not work with all cards (only SIMv1), takes a lot of time and requires special equipment.
The logical continuation of the previous method is the Sim Proxy (TurboSIM, StealthSIM, NextSIM, X-SIM and others). It uses a special apparatus adapter which tells the phone that the card belongs to AT&T.
So as we can see cell phone producers cooperate with mobile phone operators. But the users are not very happy with this so they invent different ways of unlocking GSM cell phones. Unlocked GSM cell phones can work with any operator and not just the one programmed. And this gives the user a lot of advantages.
