Jul 11, 2008 | Tag: Mobile reviews

At the CommunAsia 2008 conference the Sony Ericsson Company officially presented some of its novelties

The main hits can be called 8,1 mega pixel Sony Ericsson C905 Cybershot and game phone Sony Ericsson F305. Besides a line of simple phones of the "beginner level" was presented, but now it is worth talking more about Sony Ericsson C905. This is the first 8,1 mega pixel cameraphone from Sony Ericsson and its appearance resembles more a digital camera than a phone. Its camera is equipped with xenon flash, autofocus, supports the function of face detection, image stabilization, geotagging, red eye effect disappearance. There are 160 Mb of installed memory but for the photo and other multimedia content there is another card of 2 Gb that goes in the set. Its 2,4 inches TFT display made of mineral glass is not afraid of scratches. The mobile phone supports Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, has a TV connection, USB. The cameraphone Sony Ericsson C905 is supposed to appear on sale in the 4th quarter of this year with an unknown price.

I don\'t what kind of troll this is, taxation, but it\'s not a very good one. Why do you have to turn off 3g to use the modem? I hammer 5 gigs a day, on average, thru this handset and I\'ve used that feature on 3 UK networks (3, Voda, and T-Mob) so I\'m finding your statement hard to swallow. I can even make calls whilst torrenting, and the downloads aren\'t affected. Also, it\'s not a videophone, it\'s a camera phone, SE don\'t claim video call support but it\'s there if you wish to broadcast. Re: Settings Service - yep Sony are .. at supporting their products, but just how difficult do you think it is to enter the APN, Username and Password for you network? I think \"ease of use\" services only encourage dumb people to buy phones they don\'t need and can\'t use anyway, thinking everything will be easy and being dissappointed. Just my 2 cents.

I am buying one of these off ebay. I don't expect it to be as good as my a100 DSLR, but it might come pretty close. I will post a review on my blog once it arrives.

I was always a fan of SE, and just the other day bought a Samsung U900. Because of the low ring volume I went back to a SE. C905 is twice the price (almost) as a U900, and although the C905 is generally good, it has some big disappointments specially for the price. The first disappointment is that the camera for video calls is at the back of the phone which is totally useless. So, if you make a video call you will not be able to see each other at the same time. The other disappointment is the modem function. This can only be used in my case if you switch of the 3G phone function. U900 was much better here. The last disappointment was with obtaining the settings for the phone on the internet. SE tells you on their site that they will sms this to you. I tried this by using various (countries) sites, but untill now I did not receive any settings. Obviously this service doesnot work, I hope SE will improve on this
